Board of Managers
The Whittenberger Foundation is managed by a seven-member Board of Managers who serve without compensation. The original Board of Managers was appointed by Mrs. Ethel B Whittenberger in her will.
Successors are appointed by the existing Board.
The Board holds regular quarterly meetings and such special meetings as business requires. Review of grant applications is made during the fall of each year.
- As a private foundation, the Whittenberger Foundation is subject to the Internal Revenue Code, the rules of regulations of the United States Internal Revenue Service relating to private foundations, and the statutes and regulations of the State of Idaho.
- Annual reports of the activities of the Foundation are submitted to the Internal Revenue Service of the United States and to the Attorney General of the State of Idaho.
- The Whittenberger Foundation grants financial support only and does not directly administer programs. The Board of Managers has sole discretion in the allocation of funds and the selection of grantees as set forth in Mrs. Whittenberger’s will.
